I wear many hats at B Lab, including IT Support Manager, Certified Salesforce System Administrator, Technology Training Specialist, Slack Guru, and User Experience Researcher. I look for inefficient procedures, find ways to simplify them, and consistently strive to boost the efficiency and morale of everyone around me.

December 2013 – September 2014

• Revised and developed content, including a step-by-step workbook for the Sustainable Strategy Program (SSP) to improve program clarity and efficiency.
• Edited ‘Strategic Management and Planning’ course materials for use in graduate-level classes and nonprofit consulting
• Conducted one-on-one interviews with nonprofit directors to assess the impact of First Light Group’s Sustainable Strategy Program, which strengthens client's double bottom line of mission and money
• Analyzed and summarized findings to demonstrate positive impact of First Light Group’s Sustainable Strategy Program on client organizational outcomes

February 2014 - June 2014

• Accompanied President in every aspect of her role including Board meetings, donor meetings, organizational development, and program delivery to gain insight into CSR operations
• Developed recruitment materials and conducted personalized follow-up with CSR representatives and potential funders to expand and diversify organizational programming support and promote brand awareness
• Compiled meeting minutes and conducted follow-up with Companies that Care Board to maintain relationships and advance engagement
• Maintained Salesforce database of contacts, campaigns, and programs to improve organizational efficiency

September 2012 - June 2014

• Conducted qualitative and quantitative research on volunteer and donor behavior using SPSS and Stata to improve nonprofit fundraising and outreach
• Presented paper on "How Married Couples Make Charitable Giving Decisions" at ARNOVA's 42nd Conference, Nov. 2013
• Compiled literature research on work integrated social entrepreneurship and financial advising for the public sector
• Analyzed data from DePaul University’s Academic Program Review to develop a new MOU for the Public Service Department

Fall 2013

• Supported the development of the CIW YOU(th) Program, providing 450 Chicago Public High Schools students from low-income communities the opportunity to attend and participate in CIW events through hands-on experiences across the city
• Secured in-kind donations for networking activity
• Oversaw drafting, execution, and logistics of documents for CIW YOU(th) activity binders 
• Maintained communication between 8 youth community partner organizations, YOU(th) Advisory Board, and CIW Staff to facilitate constructive collaboration before, during, and after CIW events
• Trained and led dozens of volunteers at CIW YOU(th) events throughout the city

Summer 2012 and 2013

• Designed and organized the ‘Health and Medicine’ concentration for Engage Chicago’s 8-week program to teach undergraduates the interdisciplinary nature of a future career in health through interactive field studies throughout Chicago
• Recruited over 30 businesses and nonprofits to host undergrad interns for internships on social justice
• Upon completion of the program 100% of students indicated a commitment to health justice, compared to an initial 16%

Spring 2012

• Gained insight into political campaign strategy and branding in a swing state and urban community
• Coordinated a strategic community phone bank generating 800+ calls weekly for two months
• Maintained data from all community interactions in VoteBuilder software
• Mentored two neighborhood team leaders
• Conducted one-on-one volunteer recruitment meetings to gain insight into community connections

August 2011 – March 2012

• Recruited over 350 women at family planning clinics to participate in a reproductive health survey research study
• Developed an infographic that boosted client recruitment by 65%
• Created computer-based survey tools for use among English and Spanish speaking clients using ACASI survey technology
• Retained 80% of enrolled clients for follow-up survey

2009 – 2011 

• Oversaw GlobeMed chapter operations and logistics for two years while recruiting and developing new partnerships with 5 local businesses and 8 student programs
• Developed new strategy for recruitment that increased full- time membership from 15 to 40 students in two years utilizing one-on-one meetings, MailChimp email marketing, and the implementation of an outdoor adventure staff retreat
• Led planning and logistics for the 3rd & 4th Annual PSU Global Health Conferences attracting 250 attendees and 20 speakers
• Led year-long campaign to raise $8,000 for global health partner in Chiapas, Mexico
• Gained insight into the student consumer base for cause marketing and global health awareness

Summer 2007, 2008, 2009

• 2009: Knocked a gene out of a Borrelia burgdorferi in 4 weeks using PCR, genetic digests, and yeast transformations
• 2008: Assisted in the genetic study of primary Lymphedema using PCR and fluorescence-based DNA sequencing
• 2007: Assisted in the study of chlamydial infection in cells and mice, analyzed data using RT-PCR.

Public Health, Traditional Medicine, & Community Empowerment

Gained unique insight into healthcare policies, politics, and delivery as well as traditional medicinal practices in Chilean communities through field study seminars and independent research. All classes and experiences were in Spanish.
